Statement: Lachhemi FCIL, is a multilingual interpreter, translator, educator, and author with decades of experience in legal, healthcare, education, and government sectors in Hong Kong and the UK. Fluent in 5 languages, she has worked with the HK Judiciary, clinics, NGOs, UK hospitals, and asylum services. A Level 6 DPSI Law Tutor ( Nepali) and Level 3 Assessor, her work spans translating public health materials, producing an award-winning Nepalese radio program, and authoring a Nepalese travel phrasebook and an children’s book( Eng).She has engaged with the Nep Consulate in HK promoting Nepalese culture and also with HK gov officials on language policy. She serves as an academic journal writer, reviewer and CIOL Linguist Magazine board member.
