Statement: Isabel del Rio has extensive experience as a linguist and writer. For over two decades, she was a full-time translator, reviser and terminologist at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a UN agency in London. Previously, she was a full-time producer and presenter with the BBC World Service. She works across several language-related fields: literary translation; journalism and scriptwriting; tutoring in writing and translation; and performance. She is also a literary writer and has published fiction and poetry in both English and Spanish. Her union affiliations: Equity, Society of Authors (SoA).
