Statement: I run my own ELT & translation business in Italy and have taught English at all levels since 1996, from YLE to in-company courses for Business Executives. I have been President of the Associazione Nazionale Italiana Traduttori e Interpreti. I am currently doing research (Department of Linguistics and English Language, Lancaster University) in Cognitive Linguistics, Construction Grammar and Corpus Linguistics, focusing on the dyachronic and synchronic development of GET-constructions, with a soecial interest in GET-passives. In July 2017 I presented a paper ("The polysemy of GET-constructions and Mirativity") at the International Cognitive Linguistics Conference (ICLC14).
