“The Divine Order / Die göttliche Ordnung” is a foreign film set in 1971 Switzerland where women were still denied the right to vote. The film follows Nora, a young housewife and mother who lives with her husband and two sons in a peaceful little village. Forbidden by her husband to take up a part-time job, her frustration inspires her to fight for equality and make a stand for women’s rights. The film has been described as “captivating” and “charming”, and was also the winner of the Audience Award for Best Narrative Film at the Tribeca Film Festival.
