In November 2015, CIOL in conjunction with SFSC International Training Centre, launched the new CIOL China Association, a regional society for linguists in mainland China. The aim of the new association is to promote the benefits of membership and to raise awareness of CIOL through links with key audiences.
SFSC International Training Centre works collaboratively with a number of universities and employers in Shanghai and beyond and is therefore ideally placed to support members in China, newly qualified linguists and more experienced language practitioners.
In addition to acting as a base for the new regional society, SFSC's International training Centre is also an examination centre for the IoLET's professional qualification for translators, the Diploma in Translation.
The China Association is currently exploring how best to serve the interests of members in China and how to support the CIOL's strategic aim to grow membership.
If you would like more information about the China Association and how to get involved please contact Lillie Huang via the 'Send a message' link on this page.
If you are interested in supporting the China Association we'd be delighted to hear from you.
Simply email us with your name and contact details and a member of the committee will contact you for a no obligation discussion.
Forthcoming events are currently being planned and will be publicised here soon.
The China Association runs a variety of professional development events, benefitting CIOL members and non-members alike. Click an event to see its original listing and, if applicable, event reports and downloadable materials:
