|Ms Jane GALBRAITH||Head of Membership||
Jane joined CIOL in March 2015 and is responsible for membership strategy. Working closely with the Applications Committee and Council, Jane's remit is to continue to grow CIOL membership and to ensure that the service and benefits it offers members are valued and meet the needs of today's professional linguist. Jane is an experienced membership development professional and has worked with professional institutes and membership organisations for over 20 years. She passionately believes in the benefits linguists can derive from being a member of CIOL - from the networking opportunities to professional recognition and development. Jane is a Fellow of the Institute of Administrative Management and is also Chair of its Membership Committee.
|Mrs Soheila PHILLIPS||Membership Manager||
Soheila joined CIOL in 2007 and is responsible for managing, developing and promoting all aspects of membership and the Chartered Linguist (CL) Scheme. She works closely with the CIOL Membership Committee and the CL Registration Board on the admittance of new members and Chartered Linguists. She manages the membership renewal process and works closely with the Head of Membership to monitor, review and evaluate membership services and benefits as well as assisting to increase the CIOL membership. She has a degree in German and Linguistics.
|Mr Brian Statton||Membership Officer||
Brian joined CIOL in August 2018 on an interim basis and is the first point of contact for all membership enquiries, providing support by phone and email. His duties include assisting with renewals, collating the requisite evidence for the assessment of all applications to join CIOL and assisting with the process. He works collaboratively with the Membership Manager. Brian is an experienced Membership Officer, most recently having worked for the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals for four years.
|Ms Deborah BUTLER||Communications & Marketing Manager||
Debbie joined CIOL in 2014 after holding a number of marketing roles in the classical music, music education and not-for-profit sectors where she gained experience of communications, marketing and promotional strategies. She also has experience of brand development and representing organisations externally, both in the UK and internationally. In her role at the UK's chief music examining board, Debbie gained experience of promoting exams and working with examiners and educators. It was a keen interest in languages and other cultures that attracted Debbie to the communications role at CIOL. She works across both CIOL and IoLET, organising events and campaigns to raise the profile of the organisation through all communications channels.
|Ms Monica Solanki||Digital Content Marketing Officer||
Monica joined CIOL in October 2017 having arrived from New Zealand in July the same year. As Digital Content Marketing Officer, Monica’s role is to support the communications team in creating newsletters and event mailings, to update the website and to liaise with CIOL’s divisions and societies to ensure their events are promoted. Monica also looks after the social media channels. She held a similar role in New Zealand, working for the charity Deaf Aotearoa.
