We are seeking two CIOL members to serve on the Editorial Board for our journal The Linguist.
The Editorial Board is delegated by CIOL Council to set the strategic direction of the journal in support of the Institute’s strategic goals, and to act in an advisory capacity to the Editor, in particular to make sure that the Editor is informed of important issues in the profession and events taking place within the Institute to ensure that these are appropriately covered in The Linguist.
In addition, members of the Editorial Board are expected to:
The Board meets three times a year in February, June and November, normally in the CIOL’s offices at Dunstan House. Attendance by Skype will be arranged for Board members who are unable to attend in person or who may be resident overseas. For members resident in the UK who attend in person, travel and subsistence costs will be met in accordance with the Institute’s Travel and Subsistence Policy.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the shortlisting. Those shortlisted will be invited to attend a short Skype interview on Tuesday 20 December with Miranda Moore (Editor, The Linguist), Keith Moffitt (Member of CIOL Council and the Editorial Board) and Debbie Butler (Communications and Marketing Manager).
