This was the final AGM of the German Society e.V. During the AGM members resolved to dissolve the e.V. status. The minutes will appear in the final GS e.V. newsletter.
After the official AGM the members talked about the future of the German Society and it was decided that the name German Society would remain in order to avoid confusion with the ITI German Network.
The now ex-committee agreed to help organise the new German Society events. Norman Ellis is responsible for the website and Sally Lamm has agreed to carry on as newsletter editor. The final German Society e.V. newsletter will be sent out in February and all future mailings will be sent by CIOL.
Future events were also discussed. In 2018 there is Anglophoner Tag in Greifswald in June, the Study Weekend in Vienna in September and the Translators’ Workshop in Berlin in September.
Instead of the AGM it has been agreed to hold a Members’ Day in the spring. In March 2019 we hope to meet in Hamburg, with a tour of the Elbphilharmonie and a harbour tour.
