Soheila joined CIOL in 2007 as the Membership Manager, managing, developing and promoting all aspects of membership and the Chartered Linguist scheme. She ensured members received the highest level of customer service, streamlined numerous processes including moving to online renewals, and was constantly monitoring, reviewing and evaluating membership services. In April 2020, she changed job role and is now responsible for training; creating webinars and workshops, and also manages the networks. Her interest in languages stems from a bilingual upbringing and she has a degree in German and Linguistics.

Ms Grace Statton

Membership Manager

Grace joined CIOL in August 2018. She deals with all membership enquiries, providing support by phone and email. Grace was appointed Membership Manager in April 2020, and her duties include managing the renewal process, collating the requisite evidence for the assessment of all membership applications to join CIOL and processing the applications. She works collaboratively with the Head of Membership. Grace gained her experience in membership while working for the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals where she worked for four years before coming to CIOL.

Ms Deborah Butler

Communications & Marketing Manager

Debbie joined CIOL in 2014 after holding a number of marketing roles in the classical music, music education and not-for-profit sectors where she gained experience of communications, marketing and promotional strategies. She also has experience of brand development and representing organisations externally, both in the UK and internationally. In her role at the UK's chief music examining board, Debbie gained experience of promoting exams and working with examiners and educators. It was a keen interest in languages and other cultures that attracted Debbie to the communications role at CIOL. She works across both CIOL and CIOLQ, organising campaigns and events to raise the profile of the organisation through all communications channels.
