Drinks, snacks and theatre evening

Event report

The January meeting was a trip to the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry to see the Greek tragedy, Medea. Some members met for drinks and a chat before the show. We were then whisked away to Ancient Greece by a very professional production by the Warwick University Classics Society. Considering that this show was first performed in 431 BC, it deals with topics that are just as relevant today as 2500 years ago: justice, immigration, revenge, women’s role in society….. We all left the show two hours later entertained and educated. A very enjoyable evening.
